The Two Waters

Day 13

Read Proverbs 11:24

24 There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty.

Read Matthew 10:8

Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.

Read Luke 6:38

38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.

The Promised Land has two seas, both fed by the Jordan River. One is alive and fresh and filled with fish. The other is dead where nothing lives. The difference: the Sea of Galilee allows the water to flow through it; the Dead Sea just receives the water. The life that is alive allows God’s Word and Spirit to flow through it. The life that just receives is barren and dead.

Prayer – Ask God to make you like the Sea of Galilee, always receiving, always giving. Let God’s love flow through you today!
