Marie Hamrick’s Homegoing

On December 18, 2021, Marie Asanoma Quintanilla Hamrick went home to be with her Savior at the age of 64.  Originally of Inarajan, Guam, Marie accepted Christ as her Savior in 1980 and began working at the library at Harvest Christian Academy a few months later.  She lived with a weak heart since childhood and had physical limitations due to a couple of strokes; however, she persevered and continued to serve the Lord at Harvest Baptist Church over the next 40+ years.  She married Ernest in 1986 and served with him in the bus ministry.  She loved children and enjoyed volunteering at HCA until her health forced her to slow down.  Her quiet, selfless, giving, and serving spirit impacted countless lives both in the church and school as she listened to children’s Bible verses in AWANA, sang in the choir, made newcomers feel at home, and was a faithful prayer warrior.

After her husband’s death in 2008, she enjoyed attending the weekly Ladies’ Bible Study, volunteering at Harvest House, and taking classes with the students of Harvest Baptist Bible College.  Although she never had children, she loved being a campus mom to HBBC girls and investing in their lives.

Even as her health declined, she continued to care about the needs of others and was burdened for the salvation of many on her prayer list.  Marie’s homegoing has most certainly been a joyous occasion for her as she met face-to-face the Savior whom she loved so dearly, and we rejoice with her!  Thank you for your prayers for her family and friends in the days ahead.
