God’s Word in Our Mind

Day 27

Read Deuteronomy 6:6-8

And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up. And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.

Read Deuteronomy 11:18

18 Therefore shall ye lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul, and bind them for a sign upon your hand, that they may be as frontlets between your eyes.

Read 2 Corinthians 10:4-5

(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

The Hebrew word for “bind” in these verses is “Kashar” which means to knit together. The Word of God can be so closely knit to our thoughts that we actually begin to think the thoughts of God. If we let the Word of God change our thoughts, it will also change our lives.

Prayer – Ask God for the strength and discipline to dwell on the Scriptures, agree with them, and bind them to your thoughts.
