Frequently Asked Questions about PRCC

What is the Summer Ministry Team (SMT)?

The Summer Ministry Team is a group of young adults who work in Guam at Harvest Baptist Church for the summer. The Team reaches out to the Island of Guam through a variety of camps.

The first part of the summer consists mainly of educational opportunities in a classroom setting. You will assist in our Cool School program or our International (ESL) Camp. You will be given teaching responsibilities, experience interacting with students from an array of backgrounds and cultures, and the opportunity to gain valuable advice from a knowledgeable educator. You will also be given many ministry opportunities in local churches throughout the summer. These opportunities will include teaching Sunday school classes, helping with our children's ministry (C2C) and youth group (H4C), assisting with VBS, participating in music ministries, and running games for church events. During the latter part of the summer, you will be an integral part of our overnight camps as a counselor or as part of our program staff. Counselors will have the opportunity to counsel, disciple, and lead a cabin of campers. Camp program staff will help with games, meals, tear down/set up and other duties relating to camp along with the opportunity to counsel after services.
